"I come to see Kim for a regular physical equivalent of 500 mile service to help keep things moving - he does a good job"
Male, OAP describes himself as an 'overused sportsman'
I qualified from the British College of Osteopathy and Naturopathy (now the British College of Osteopathy Medicine - BCOM) in 1998, as an Osteopath (Ost Med) ND Bsc.
From 1998-2007 I worked as an Osteopath at Wainwright Therapy Centre, a large multidisciplinary practice in Sheffield. I opened Hathersage Osteopathic Practice in 2000.
I enjoy the challenge of treating a wide range of people – differing ages, interests, life styles and backgrounds. As an Osteopath I use a broad range of techniques to encourage therapeutic change from active movement rehabilitation to more passive cranial osteopathy. I feel it is important to encourage people to help themselves and believe that patient education is important to achieve long lasting solutions.
As an Osteopath I am required to undertake regular continuing professional development activities, I enjoy and am committed to this ongoing learning.
Over the last 25 years I have climbed, fell run and engaged in other movement activities, such as martial arts, gymnastic training, and stretching. This background helps my understanding of how different people use their bodies and the types of problems that can occur. I have built my knowledge of useful osteopathic techniques and exercises for preventing injury and promoting a healthy body, enabling people to keep doing what they enjoy doing and sometimes even improve!
